The adventure is coming to an end.....it is with mixed emotions....it was an incredible adventure, we had some challenges along the way but met some really nice people and saw a lot of the country....but for me home is where the heart is.....and after 4 months we were both ready to get home!....missing the familiar and the friends we love! We arrive home tomorrow afternoon and will spend some time unloading and cleaning up the RV, then taking it to storage for the winter.....then spending some time getting settled into our house.
So, to recap the last few days....we left Clarksville, TN and headed to Tuscaloosa, Al to visit Dean's sister Nancy

We arrived at Lake Lurleen RV Park just outside of Tuscaloosa....a beautiful state park set way back....and I mean WAY back off the main road......chicks and ducks and geese better hurry......
 |
| They look so innocent |
Geese are a little aggressive....I was trying to snap some photos and they started walking very quickly toward me.....quickly enough for me to retreat to the truck! Stop laughing1 I'm a city mouse! Mischka, by the way, was totally uninterested in the geese and ducks.
Tuscaloosa is a college town and they take their football seriously.....the camp was filled with red & white flags, bumper stickers, and virtually everyone dresses in red and white....the colors of the Crimson Tide! Roll Tide! We had dinner with Nancy on Friday and then went to her house to watch the game....well, they watched the game....I played on my ipad!

The last few days were not without challenges....the "check engine" light came on necessitating a trip to the mechanic....luckily Nancy has a friend who's a mechanic and was able to get us in right away....turned out to be nothing serious. The park in Tuscaloosa was beautiful, but no internet access! That created a problem especially for Dean...remember, he's working! It was also only 30 amps (note to selves for future adventure....must have internet access and 50 amps). And then there were the ANTS! Apparently ants are a challenge in the camp.....we were infested! We tried ant traps to no avail! We declared war, went to Lowe's and loaded up with spray...for inside and out! Happy to report that the war was won!
We packed up early this morning and headed to our last stop before home........I have to admit, crossing the border into Florida gave me such a warm fuzzy!

We're staying tonight at an RV park in Bonifay, FL.....home tomorrow!
In light & love,
Tobi
